Iodine Deficiency in Armenia and Artsakh

Beneficiaries Description: Direct beneficiaries of the project are about 1200 medical doctors in Armenia and Artsakh

Project Goal: to disseminate information on the current status of the population in regard the iodine deficiency in Armenia and Artsakh  and follow to the developed guidelines when prescribing iodine related treatments. 

Project Objectives:​ 

  1. Increase awareness of the adequacy of iodine nutrition among physicians and health care professionals in Armenia and Artsakh 
  2. Disseminate up-to-date guidelines for managing thyroid disease in an iodine sufficient population
  3. Establish an accurate reporting system by which thyroid disease can be recorded for official health care statistics
