Creative Expression Workshop - 2007

Beneficiaries Description: 70 school age children from socially vulnerable families from Child Care and Protection Night Center N1 and about 80 school age children from Yerevan Special School of Children with Speech Deficiencies N 8

Project Area: Yerevan, Armenia

Project Goal: To improve the overall social and psychological well being of the underprivileged children from special/boarding schools in Armenia.

Project Objectives:

• Promotion of creativity, personal capacities and communication skills of children from Child Care and Protection Night Center N1 and Special School of Children with Speech Deficiencies N8 in Yerevan through organization of the following workshops (Theatrical Plays, Musical Productions, Skilful Hands, Psychological Discussions, Speech Development, Film Education and Intellectual Games).
• Organization of active cultural life and creative leisure for children residing in Child Care and Protection Night Center N1 and Special School of Children with Speech Deficiencies N8 in Yerevan through preparation and presentation of performances, visits to cultural institutions and meetings with honored performers.
• Introduction of the established model for intellectual and social development of institutionalized children to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and to other agencies and organizations.
