Rural Nurses Pass Training

Around 126 rural nurses of Tavush, Lori, Vayots Dzor, Armavir, Syunik, Kotayk, Gegharkunik provinces passed training within the framework of a program of training and increasing the skills of the rural nurses. The program is being carried out from 2005 by the Jinishian memory foundation. Coordinator of the program Zara Janibekian said as a result the skills of the nurses increased by 33-50 percent. In the first round 30 nurses of Vayots Dzor, Lori and Tavush provinces were trained, in the second round 96 nurses from Syunik, Gegharkunik, Armavir and Kotayk provinces were trained. “Rural nurses have not passed training for already 15 years and are not aware of medical innovations. The approaches they had changed a lot,” Janibekian said. The training program has been developed in collaboration with the Armenian Health Ministry.
