Youth Engaged in Society - Academic Year 2008 - 2009

Beneficiaries description: Direct beneficiaries are 1,200 – 1,600 high school students. Indirect beneficiaries include secondary school students, teachers, and school administrations of 80 schools.

Project areas: Yerevan and nine towns of Armenia (Armavir, Abovyan, Metsamor, Vagharshapat, Hrazdan, Gyumri, Gavar, Sevan, and Vanadzor)

Project goals: promote the development of civil society

Project objectives:

  1. increasing the knowledge and interest of young Armenians in key issues related to the development of civil society, democracy and human rights, 
  2. building communication and analytical thinking skills that will permit young Armenians to more actively participate, today and later in their adult lives, in the development of Armenian society, 
  3. adding value to the education system and increase enthusiasm of young Armenians for learning through participatory methods.
