Disability Prevention Among Children and Outreach Clinics in Armenia

Beneficiaries Description: Direct beneficiaries of the project are about 500 disabled children (identified) and 8 trained doctors of the targeted regions. Indirect beneficiaries are about 2300 newborns (per year) from targeted marzes.

Project Areas:  Yerevan, Syunik, Ararat and Aragatsotn marzes

Project Goal: To reduce DDH disability among children and to improve the quality of life of disabled children in Syunik, Ararat and Aragatsotn marzes of Armenia.

Project Objectives:

  1. By the end of 2010 to improve the knowledge and skills of 8 medical doctors (2 from Ararat, 2 from Aragatsotn & 4 from Syunik marz, (Goris and Kapan)) from targeted regions in prevention and management of DDH.
  2. By the end of 2010 to improve the quality of life of disabled children by conducting 4 outreach clinics for medical examination of disabled children of Aragatsotn, Ararat and Syunik (Goris and Kapan cities) marzes of Armenia.
