Emergency COVID-19 Support to Rural Businesses in Armenia Project

Beneficiaries Description: the initiative will train 50 selected small enterprises in setting COVID-19 specific safety measures and provide expert consultancy to carry out individual rehabilitation plans to address the current business problems. The project will award emergency grants to 15 enterprises, whose sole survival depends on that financial aid.

Project Area: Lori, Gegharkunik, Shirak, Syunik, and Tavush

Project Goal: to  help existing entrepreneurs living in rural areas and regions of Armenia (Lori, Gegharquniq, Shirak, Syuniq, Tavush) to survive in the new circumstances of COVID-19 crisis through the combination of technical and financial assistance. 

Project Objectives: 

  1. At least 70 entrepreneurs will receive capacity building training to improve their business skills in different areas that might include but not be limited as finances, accounting, taxes, online marketing, B&B management at COVID-19 times, photography and design, etc.
  2. At least 50 entrepreneurs will receive special training on COVID-19 measures to be prepared to keep safety without jeopardizing anyone’s health. The businesses will also be granted a pack of hygiene products necessary for virus prevention at business facilities. 
  3. At least 25 entrepreneurs will receive individual assistance to address the current emerging needs of businesses to ensure income through direct involvement of experts in sales, marketing consultations for export markets, SMM, quick web page development, financial and tax consultations, designer and photography services.
  4. At least 15 entrepreneurs will receive financial assistance in form of grants to direct towards business expenses essential for survival such as rental facilities for operations, utility payments, purchase of raw materials, essential assets to start a new production or make changes in the existing business, etc.
